The Uninterruptible Power Supply

page: 18 of 22

An uninterruptible power supply, or UPS, provides a backup power supply when the regular power source fails. A UPS is especially useful.

In addition to providing a backup power source, a UPS can double as a surge suppressor and line conditioner. A line conditioner is any device that filters out electrical power disturbances to provide clean and stable electrical current to a computer system.
