Think of a system unit as a computer's brain. All the computing components for processing and storing data, as well as communicating with the computer's other parts, are located within a computer's system unit. Basically, a system unit's job is to handle all the incoming and outgoing information and to talk to the other parts of the computer.
A system unit includes all of the components that allow a computer to process information, store data, and communicate with the other parts of a computer. These parts include a hard disk drive, floppy disk drive, CD drive, power supply, and motherboard.
